DEMIURGE
A short film about The Creator.
DEMIURGE was my senior film, made while completing my degree at Bradley University. It tells a story of The Creator, who learns a lesson about letting his creation become what it wants to be.
DEMIURGE was an official selection in the Supernova Digital Animation Festival and the Psychedelic Film and Music Festival.
Throughout the project I maintained a steady production blog to document the process of making my first film from scratch.
Music
I also composed and performed the original score for the film. I love to give my animations a musical quality and I was able to accomplish this because I developed the visuals and music simultaneously.
Promotion
When the premiere of my film was cancelled due to Covid, I decided to make a trailer to let people know that I would still be releasing it on the original date, April 25th. It was also a good way for me to promise myself that I wasn’t going to let the pandemic stop all my hard work.
In the days leading up to the release date I created a countdown using assets from my film to create short, looping animations.
